Born and raised in London, Kate started out singing with choirs such as the Bach Choir and the National Youth Choir of Great Britain. Also a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, she went on to gain a Bachelor of Music degree with a Composition major at KING'S COLLEGE LONDON, under the tuition of classical composers Robert Keeley and Silvina Milstein. She then trained in musical theatre at the ROYAL ACADEMY OF MUSIC, where she was made an Associate for her work in music.
Kate is a composer, writer, lyricist, musical director and sound designer. She was the 2018-19 Cameron Mackintosh Resident Composer at LYRIC HAMMERSMITH.
Companies and artists she has worked with recently include Karl Hyde (Underworld), Kele Okereke (Bloc Party), Pet Shop Boys, Matthew Herbert, Frantic Assembly, Simon Stephens, DV8 and Rambert.
Recent credits as composer include ANAHERA (Finborough Theatre), and ABANDON (Lyric Hammersmith, for which she was nominated for a Best Composer Stage Debut Award).
