Kate is a composer, writer, singer/songwriter, actor, musical director, musical arranger, vocal coach and sound designer based in London.
For stage, credits as composer include contemporary dance live audio story FRAGMENTS (NYC, dir./choreo. Mandie Rapoza, 2020), ANAHERA (Finborough Theatre, dir. Alice Kornitzer, European premier 2019), and ABANDON (Lyric Hammersmith, devised by Lyric Young Company & Laura Lomas, Best Composer Stage Debut Award nomination, 2017).
Other recent work in music for stage includes ENTER ACHILLES (DV8/Ballet Rambert, world tour incl Sadler's Wells, dir./choreo. Lloyd Newson, 2020), MUSIK (Assembly Rooms Edinburgh/Leicester Square Theatre, dir. Josh Seymour, writer Jonathan Harvey, music Pet Shop Boys, 2019/20), LEAVE TO REMAIN (Lyric Hammersmith, dir./choreo. Robby Graham, writer Matt Jones, music Kele Okereke of Bloc Party, 2019), and FATHERLAND (Manchester Royal Exchange for MIF/Lyric Hammersmith for LIFT, Frantic Assembly, dir. Scott Graham, writer Simon Stephens, music Karl Hyde of Underworld & music producer Matthew Herbert, 2017/18).
Own projects in development include I CANNOT MAKE NOISE WHEN I SCREAM (composer, writer, co-music producer, performer, funded & supported in development by Lyric Hammersmith, Mercury Musical Developments & Musical Theatre Network, in collaboration with Luke Brown Dance, 2019).
Current collaborations include if I am real, F**KED IN MARRAKECH & GHOSTED -
musicals all in development with collaborator Alex Young in 2021 (joint-composer/writers),
and spoken word musical BABS - in early development with singer/songwriter Grace Lightman.
n 2018-19, Kate was the Cameron Mackintosh resident composer at Lyric Hammersmith.
Other awards include LEH Emerging Talent Award 2020, S & S Award 2015 (for HERE, a musical co-created with Alex Young, in conjunction with Curve Leicester & Mercury Musical Developments). Kate and Alex were also finalists in classical song competition Composium (in association with PRS for Music, for Cheltenham Music Festival).
Kate gained a Bachelor of Music degree with a Composition major at King's College London, under the tuition of classical composers Robert Keeley and Silvina Milstein, and then trained at the Royal Academy Of Music, where she was made an Associate for her work in music in 2018.
